Biggest Loser: The good, the bad and the ugly

Well tonight will end week 1 of the biggest loser competition.  It has been a challenging week to say the least.  Whoever choose to start the competition the week of July 4th was either totally crazy, or insanely brilliant.  I believe there is a weigh-in tomorrow, so I will let you know my progress.  My hope or goal is nine pounds for a couple of reasons.  The first is I had lost by a scale at my job 5 pounds by last Wednesday, so I think nine is attainable.  The second is if you remember in this post, my first goal was 25 by this thursday when I go see my doctor, so nine will hit that target.  They ( the biggest loser administrator), said they are also going to have a leaderboard, so it will be interesting to see where I fit.  They say there is over 60 people entered in this competition.  I do want to win, but it is not the main objective.  Come on, no one is going to turn down free money.  But after the first week – here is the good, the bad and the ugly

The Good:

One of my goals was to drink water, water and more water.  After one week, I have held basically true to that.  I have limited myself to basically one or two drinks of juice a day, and the rest of time water only.  I know it should be 100% water, but 90% is a good start.  And that is what I give most of the credit for the 5 pounds to by Wednesday, and why I really think that 9 is not out of the question.

The bad:

One of my goals was working out 5 days a week for an hour and a half.  Tonight after finishing this, will be my fourth time this week, so I did not reach my goal.  I tried to do more than an hour and I am extremely exhausted after the hour and I was able to do 15 mins the one time, but did not do any more any other time.  I did try, but I just am spent.  So maybe I need to do more cardio first, then do my workout.

The Ugly:

July 4th, what can I say.  2 cheeseburgers and 1 hot dog, 1 brownie, 1 small square of pound cake and 1 slice of cake.  Not all at the same time – but all through the whole day.  I have done so good staying away from sweets, but that definitely didn’t work that day.  Thankfully July 4th only comes one time a year, and I don’t have any other holidays during this competition.

Overall, I think with the what I am doing by drinking almost nothing by water, this will make this week one of my best weeks throughout my journey, even though I may stumbled in other places.  I will know tomorrow.

and the journey continues…..
